The Frisco ISD student was selected for the prestigious NASA program, a competitive summer experience connecting students with hands on opportunities in STEM and engineering.
FRISCO, Texas – Dilara Bulut, a student at Wakeland High School in Frisco, has been selected to participate in the NASA High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS) program, an immersive summer experience designed to inspire and prepare the next generation of space explorers and engineers.
Chosen After a Rigorous NASA Evaluation
Selection for the HAS program is not a traditional scholarship, but a merit based internship. Candidates are evaluated on their performance in STEM courses, participation in science and technology related extracurricular activities, and demonstrated leadership potential.
An Immersion in Space Engineering
As a High School Aerospace Scholar, Dilara will have the opportunity to:
· Collaborate on a space mission design project with other selected students from across the country.
· Interact with NASA engineers and scientists through virtual sessions and hands on activities.
· Develop critical skills in engineering, robotics, and aerospace design.
Paving the Way for a STEM Career
This experience is not only a recognition of Dilara's academic performance but also a strategic step toward a future career in fields such as aerospace engineering, data science, or applied physics. Programs like HAS are known for opening doors to further opportunities within NASA and the private space industry.
A Role Model in Frisco ISD
Dilara's achievement highlights the strength of Frisco ISD's STEM programs and the community's growing emphasis on fostering careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Her dedication serves as an example for other students interested in similar paths.
