FRISCO, TEXAS : In an effort to boost small business vitality and community engagement, the City of Frisco has announced the launch of its Buy-One, Get-One (BOGO) Gift Card Program. The initiative, hosted in partnership with the Frisco Economic Development Corporation and local merchants in the Rail District, is designed to energize foot traffic, support independent retailers, and reward residents for shopping local.

Frisco's BOGO Program should bring Local Economic Growth

Under the program, residents who purchase a digital gift card, valued between $25 and $250, will receive a bonus card of the same amount, effectively doubling their spending power at participating Rail District businesses.

“This is more than just a shopping incentive,” said Kelly Walker, spokesperson for the Frisco Economic Development Department. “It’s a strategic reinvestment in the local economy. When people spend locally, that money circulates within Frisco, helping sustain jobs and preserving the charm of the Rail District.”

Supporting Local Merchants in a Changing Landscape

The Rail District, known for its eclectic mix of local boutiques, coffee houses, and restaurants, has experienced both growth and challenges in recent years as national chains and mixed-use developments expand across the city. Initiatives like the BOGO program are intended to balance that trend by directing consumer attention back to small, locally owned shops that define Frisco’s original character.

Sarah Nichols, owner of Bittersweet Ivy, a women’s fashion boutique that has operated in the Rail District for over a decade, said the timing couldn’t be better.

Will this Boost Frisco's Community and Connection?

Many Frisco residents have moved to the area within the last decade, and initiatives like this help new families discover the city’s local culture.

The program is expected to bring increased weekend traffic to popular Rail District spots such as Summer

Moon Coffee, The Frisco Emporium, and Tumbleweed TexStyles, creating an uptick in dining, entertainment, and casual shopping.

“Frisco’s Rail District isn’t just a place to shop,” said Mayor Jeff Cheney in a recent city update. “It’s part of our identity a link to the city’s past and a foundation for its future. This program supports that heritage while helping our small business community thrive.”

How to Participate

The program opened at 10 a.m. on November 4, 2025, and will continue while supplies last. Because the offer is tied to the holiday shopping season, bonus cards are expected to be claimed quickly.

Gift cards can be redeemed at participating Rail District businesses, and the full list of merchants, along with program rules, spending terms, and expiration details, remains available on the City of Frisco’s official website.

A Potential New Chapter for the Rail District

The Rail District continues to evolve from its historic roots into a dynamic cultural hub, where local businesses and residents intersect. Programs like this BOGO initiative could be an important step in keeping Frisco’s growth grounded in community values.

As downtown development expands and modernization continues, Frisco’s commitment to small businesses remains clear: a city grows stronger when it invests in its people.
