WearKind Non-Profit: Designing Adaptive Clothing & Nurturing Independence For Individuals with Disabilities in Frisco

WearKind Non Profit in Frisco Founder

Adaptive Clothing That Works With Real Life

Big ideas don’t always start with funding or fanfare, sometimes they begin with empathy. Founded by Frisco resident Niveah Gandhi, WearKind is a nonprofit organization creating adaptive clothing for children and individuals with disabilities, designed to restore confidence, dignity, and independence through thoughtful design.

What sets WearKind apart is not just what they make, but why they make it. At its core, WearKind believes clothing should empower people, not limit them.

About WearKind in Frisco Texas:

A Frisco Non-Profit Inspired by Service, and Built on Inclusion

WearKind designs apparel that blends functionality with everyday style, allowing individuals of all abilities to feel comfortable, confident, and independent in what they wear. Each piece is developed alongside families and caregivers to ensure it solves real, everyday challenges, not theoretical ones.

Their adaptive designs include:

  • clothing made by WearKind in Frisco

Graphic t-shirts with discreet Velcro fasteners, ideal for individuals who need assistance dressing without sacrificing appearance

  • Button-down shirts with faux buttons and hidden Velcro closures, allowing for independent dressing while maintaining a classic look

These are clothes designed for school days, family outings, and daily routines, not medical settings.

Community Partnerships Strengthening Impact in North Texas

WearKind was inspired by Niveah’s volunteer work across North Texas with organizations serving individuals with special needs. In 2024, she volunteered with Starcatchers, a theater program supporting individuals with disabilities, where she saw firsthand how creativity and inclusion build confidence.

That same year, her work at Scottish Rite for Children, a pediatric orthopedic hospital, exposed a challenge families quietly face every day: traditional clothing often creates unnecessary barriers for children with disabilities.

Those experiences became the foundation of WearKind’s mission: to eliminate the tradeoff between functionality and style.

WearKind collaborates with respected organizations in healthcare, disability advocacy, and inclusive arts, including:

  • Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation

  • Starcatchers NTPA – Theater for Youth and Adults with Disabilities

  • Pediatric Plus Therapy

  • Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living

  • Innovating Inclusion – Podcast for Disability Justice & Equity

These partnerships help ensure WearKind’s designs remain grounded in community needs and real-world impact.

A Frisco Nonprofit Powered by Family

WearKind operates with a strong family foundation. Niveah’s parents support the organization through legal compliance, financial oversight, and nonprofit structure, allowing her to focus on design innovation, outreach, and advocacy.

“My goal is to help children with special needs gain independence through better clothing design,” Niveah shares. “Clothing should support people, not hold them back.”
