Family-owned shop offers gear, expertise, and a personal touch for players and families
Just a short distance from Toyota Stadium, Soccer City has built a reputation as more than a place to buy cleats and shin guards. The locally owned store is known for its customer service, specialty gear, and community events.
Owner Jamey Stiglets, who purchased the shop about ten years ago, said the focus has always been on combining retail experience with a passion for sports. “We consider ourselves a soccer specialty store and boutique,” he said.
“You never know who’s in here. We help everyone from young kids to professional players.”
Supporting Families and Youth Players
Many parents visit Soccer City for their children’s first season. The store serves families from across the region, including Frisco, McKinney, Prosper, The Colony, and Celina.
“We see moms and dads with kids ages three through eight who are just starting out,” Stiglets said. “They come in looking for everything from cleats and socks to shin guards and balls.”
Uniforms are available for youth teams, especially recreational leagues beginning at the U6 level. The shop has become a reliable resource for parents looking for convenience and guidance.
Beyond Soccer: Team Sports and Customization
Although soccer remains the foundation of the business, Soccer City supports other sports as well. The store outfits volleyball, basketball, and hockey players and provides uniforms for Fieldhouse USA leagues and competitive teams. Custom jersey numbering and team packages are also part of the services offered.
This approach allows the business to stay connected with Frisco’s broader sports community, where year-round leagues keep families active across multiple activities.
Events and Fan Connections
Soccer City has also become a destination during major tournaments. During the last World Cup, the store partnered with Panini and the Frisco Rail Yard for a sticker-trading event that featured seven or eight athletes who had played in the tournament.
“There’s nowhere else you can interact with players like this,” Stiglets said:
“Many professional athletes have roots in this area, and they often return.”
In addition, the store carries FC Dallas merchandise for local fans, reinforcing its ties to the professional game as well as the grassroots level.
Specialty Gear and Expert Fittings
Soccer City stocks more than 200 types of soccer shoes, including rare high-end cleats made in Japan from kangaroo leather. Only a handful of stores in the country carry them.
The shop emphasizes proper fittings. Staff members measure players’ needs and recommend products such as Cleat Pro inserts, which are commonly used by professionals who cover six to ten miles in a match.
“We do fittings the way pros do,” Stiglets said. “We make sure customers get the right support for their game.”
A Local Business With a Personal Approach
For the Stiglets family, the store is about more than sales. Jamey’s son, Austin, often helps in the shop, continuing the family’s connection to both retail and athletics. That family involvement resonates with customers who appreciate a personal approach.
Whether it is a child lacing up cleats for the first time or a college player preparing for the season, the store provides a place where soccer culture feels accessible and local.
Looking Ahead
As Frisco grows, so does the demand for sports gear and services. Soccer City continues to adapt by offering specialty products, community events, and customer-focused service.
For families, it remains a one-stop shop for starting the season. For athletes, it provides rare finds and professional-level fittings. And for the community, it represents how a local business can stay connected to a global sport while keeping its roots in Frisco.
Soccer City is located at 6616 Main Street in the Frisco Rail District.
