Local café blends heritage, specialty coffee, and community spirit

La Finca Coffee & Bakery has found a home in the Frisco Rail District, bringing authentic Mexican flavors and a warm sense of community to the city. Known for its specialty coffee and unique pastries, the café reflects a journey that began more than a decade ago in Mexico and continues to grow in North Texas.

A Story Rooted in Heritage

The La Finca story began in Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico in 2010. Owners Patricia and her husband first discovered their passion for coffee while serving as missionaries. What started as simple gatherings over a shared pot of coffee soon grew into the idea of opening a shop that would bring people together.

Their first café, Café Bean, opened in December 2012 with a small food and dessert menu. When their dessert supplier could no longer provide baked goods, Patricia began baking in-house. Over time, the bakery expanded, laying the foundation for the full menu La Finca offers today.

From Coffee Shop to Coffee Roaster

In 2013, just ten months after opening, the couple invested in a coffee roaster. Roasting in-house gave them control over quality and flavor while deepening their connection to the farmers and producers behind the beans.

This transition helped define their identity as not just café owners but also coffee roasters committed to transparency and authenticity. By 2015, Café Bean had expanded to include a full-service kitchen and became one of the most highly rated spots in the community.

Building Relationships Through Coffee

La Finca’s philosophy extends beyond serving coffee and pastries. The team embraces “relational coffee,” a concept that prioritizes working directly with producers. In 2019, they began partnering with Caféología in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, which focuses on innovation, fair compensation, and sustainability in the coffee trade.

By aligning with producers who share these values, La Finca ensures every cup tells a story of collaboration and care. This approach allows Frisco customers to enjoy coffee that supports farmers and communities abroad while providing a meaningful connection at home.

La Finca Returns to Frisco with Mexican Flavors

In 2019, the owners returned to Frisco after nearly a decade in Mexico. They sold their café, relocated their family, and opened La Finca Coffee & Bakery in the Rail District. Their vision was to contribute to the area’s revitalization while introducing Frisco residents to an authentic blend of Mexican flavors and modern café culture.

The bakery quickly developed a strong following for its specialty coffee, authentic Mexican fusion menu, and inviting atmosphere. For many families, it has become a weekend stop, while for professionals, it provides a space to meet, work, or simply recharge.

Why It Matters to Frisco

La Finca Coffee & Bakery adds diversity to Frisco’s growing food and beverage scene. By combining cultural heritage with entrepreneurial spirit, it strengthens the Rail District’s role as a gathering place for residents and visitors.

Local businesses like La Finca not only bring unique dining options but also foster connections that enhance Frisco’s reputation as a family-friendly, community-oriented city. In an area known for growth, these neighborhood spots give residents more than a place to eat.

Looking Ahead

La Finca continues to expand its menu and community impact, staying committed to its mission of serving quality coffee, fresh bakery items, and authentic Mexican-inspired meals. Whether it is a quick stop for a pastry or a long conversation over coffee, the café offers Frisco a taste of heritage and hospitality.

You can visit La Finca Coffee & Bakery at 7511 Main St #150, Frisco, TX 75034, right in the heart of the Rail District.
