Jensen Huang Cuts the Ribbon: $700M NVIDIA Superchip Factory Opens 30 Minutes From Frisco

FRISCO, TEXAS: The most consequential technology event in North Texas this year happened Tuesday about 30 minutes west of Frisco. Wistron Corporation opened its D1 AI smart facility at AllianceTexas in far north Fort Worth on July 21, the site where the first NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip was built and mass-produced in the United States, according to the company.
A $700 Million Bet on North Texas
The 324,000-square-foot plant carries a $700 million price tag and anchors Wistron's $761 million investment in two AI manufacturing facilities at AllianceTexas, an expansion supported by tax incentives from the city of Fort Worth and Denton County, according to Fort Worth Inc. The project is expected to create more than 800 jobs, per the Fort Worth Report. NVIDIA says production will scale to tens of thousands of computing boards per month this year, with the next-generation Vera Rubin Superchip also slated for the line.
Huang: 'The Most Powerful AI Supercomputer in the World'
NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang led the opening ceremony alongside Wistron Chairman Simon Lin, signing the first GB300 unit produced on site. Huang described the system built around the chip as the most powerful AI supercomputer in the world, telling the audience each unit packs 1.5 million parts, weighs two tons, and costs $4 million, according to NVIDIA's account of the event.

Lin struck a note of discipline amid the speed: "We don't just need to build fast; we need to build right," he said, per Fort Worth Inc. Wistron shares jumped 9.7% on the news, CNBC reported.
Why Fort Worth Won
Fort Worth beat competing locations for the site in August 2025, less than a year before boards started rolling off the line. NVIDIA's partner manufacturing facilities now span 43 U.S. states, with partners including Wistron, TSMC, and Foxconn contributing an estimated $485 billion to U.S. GDP in 2026, according to figures cited by CNBC.
The Frisco Connection
For Frisco, the factory completes a regional AI picture that has been assembling itself all year. The city is already home to more than 500 tech companies, the Origin innovation hub at The Star, and a newly launched enterprise AI venture push The Frisco News covered this month. The chips powering that software economy are now manufactured a half-hour down the highway, giving North Texas something few regions on earth can claim: an AI supply chain that runs from the factory floor to the startup floor.
Why It Matters
Strip away the ceremony and the fact pattern is stark. A single facility 30 minutes from Frisco now produces the hardware Jensen Huang calls the most powerful AI supercomputer in the world, at phone-factory volume, with 800 new jobs attached. Regions that manufacture the machines of an industrial revolution have historically kept the wealth that follows. North Texas just joined that list, and every company, school, and household in Frisco sits inside its blast radius of opportunity.
