Campus Updates For 2025-2026 Budgets Across The District

This summer, Frisco ISD focused on making the most of the 2018 voter-approved bond funds.

The District’s approach shows a shift in priorities. With enrollment no longer rising at the same pace, and many campuses reaching the 20-year mark, the focus has moved from building new schools to maintaining existing ones.

More than 50 campuses and facilities received improvements. From new paint and carpet to updated technology and security systems, some schools also got auditorium upgrades, new boilers, and fresh furniture. While these might seem like small details, they make a big difference for students and staff day-to-day.

By 2026, more than 30 schools will be at least two decades old, so keeping facilities updated is becoming essential.

Frisco ISD Technology and Security

One of the most noticeable areas of investment has been technology. Chromebooks were distributed to several elementary schools, printers and projectors were replaced across multiple campuses, and network infrastructure was upgraded to handle newer devices. Incoming ninth graders also received new Chromebooks through the 1 For All program, continuing the District’s effort to keep learning tools current.

On the security side, consistency was the priority. Nearly every campus now has the same doorbell camera system, and select schools received upgraded cameras. These improvements might not be flashy, but they create peace of mind for families and staff.

Looking Ahead

Because the 2024 bond package didn’t pass, District leaders are working with limited funds and will have to prioritize only the most critical needs. That means some projects, like updates at Staley Middle School, are still under review. At the same time, long-term construction continues, including the new Visual and Performing Arts Center set to open in spring 2026.

It’s encouraging to see how Frisco ISD has stretched the 2018 bond to cover so many upgrades. Even with tighter budgets ahead, the focus on maintaining campuses and keeping technology and security up to date feels like the right call. As schools age, these updates will matter more than ever for the learning environment.
